Strawberry Sundae (13 of 15)

Strawberry season is officially here, in Washington state. We were blessed with warm sunny days for the past couple of weeks, and the strawberries are now big, juicy and sweet!

Strawberry Sundae is a classic dessert, but everyone has their own special way of putting it together. I absolutely love it with fresh strawberries, almonds and dark chocolate! I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.   Note: I’m not giving you exact measurements for this recipe because its mostly up to your taste buds this time 🙂

Ingredients:

  • fresh strawberries
  • vanilla ice cream
  • almonds, sliced
  • dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • sugar (optional)

Start with washing the strawberries, and taking the top parts off. In a big bowl mash them. I don’t use a food processor because I usually too lazy to wash it, plus, I like little bits of berries to be present, so I don’t puree it all the way. If you’d like, you can add some sugar to your strawberries. I did, just 1 teaspoon was enough for me.

Now, you can start putting your sundae together by placing a scoop of ice cream in your sundae dish. Put mashed strawberries over the ice cream.
