Easter is a very big celebration for us. Usually we celebrate it by going to church early in the morning, and the big feast after. Russian and Ukrainian people start preparing for this holiday a few days or even weeks in advance by renovating their homes, baking sweet breads “paskahs”, coloring and decorating eggs, making home “kielbasas”. It all sounds very wonderful, and of course, time-consuming. With our busy everyday routines, we gradually dropped some of the Slavic traditions, and adopted famous egg hunting, bunnies chasing, and other fun stuff. My children and I have been also busy working on musical pieces and songs that they’re going to perform at church, trying to concentrate on the real meaning of Easter. Christ is risen!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter, Happy Spring, and Everything Wonderful!!! Last weekend my family and I visited famous Tulip fields. As I was walking and admiring beautiful God’s creation, I felt this instant joy that filled my heart. Life is beautiful, and the happiness is near, even though some of us chasing it throughout our lives trying to find it in material things, and that kind of happiness is temporary. Open up your eyes and hearts, and truly enjoy the present, which is your family, beautiful nature, sunshine, spring, and always rejoice!
