Today, my blog has been featured and I have guest posted this recipe at Fae’s Twist & Tango! I’m so excited to share this delicious vegan, gluten-free dessert with you. Chocolate Salami is a classic no-bake treat. It is named “Salami” because it really does look like one. I remember making it when I was a child, because it’s one of the easiest desserts to make.
I know how Fae loves to give a little twist to the recipes, and I’d like to do the same here. So here it is, healthier version of “classic”, no butter, no eggs, vegan and gluten-free chocolate salami!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dates, pitted, chopped
- 1/3 cup prunes, chopped
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 2 ounces coconut milk
- 100 g (vegan) dark chocolate
Process dates and prunes together with coconut milk in a food processor until well blended.
Break chocolate, and place in a bowl over a pan of barely simmering water (a double boiler), stir occasionally until chocolate melts.
Add nuts, melted chocolate, prunes and dates mixture together. Mix until well incorporated.
Wrap mixture in parchment paper, shaping it into a long log. Refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Slice and enjoy!

Vera, Thank you very much for Guest Posting on my blog, and choosing this very delicious and healthy dessert to present! I can see why you learned to make this at a young age. Probably now you see your daughters taking after you and making this yummy treat. 🙂
Thank you so much for the opportunity, Fae! I really enjoyed the whole process. My daughters are always on stand by just waiting to get their hands on. 🙂
Yes, this treat!! Looks amazing and thank you for leaving “печенье” out of it!!!
As much as I love traditional recipes, and nostalgic “flavors from childhood”, this Chocolate Salami is no less. It’s made healthy without sacrificing flavor. No cookies, no butter… you’re going to love it!
